German
Shorthaired Pointer Puppies 2004 - Sire is a Master Hunter,as well as CH and NAVHDA registered,
and is dual bred "DC/AFC Stradivarius Baroque," along with
"Snip's" bloodlines. Both Sire's parents are Int CH/CH and
Master Hunters. Grand Sire was ""2002 GSPCA Sire of the
Year."" Dam, Dakota, is a Junior Hunter. She is a
"Hillhaven Handsome" granddaughter that is full of natural
ability and looks. Note: "DC/AFC Stradivarius
Baroque"" was Sired by "DC Hillhaven Hustler",
"DC Hillhaven Hustler" was Sired by "Hillhaven
Handsome." Our goal is to produce good looking, bird-crazy gun dogs
that will be suitable for the average foot hunter and that can be trained and
handled by their owner as well as live in the house.

2005
Planned Breeding
INDY X RUDY
We have done lot's
of work, planning and research for the next litter; this breeding should
take place in the end of Sept 05'. Dakota's littermate sister
"Indy" also a Hillhaven Handsome Granddaughter X Hawkeyes Baron Von
Rudolph- Rudy is line bred VC Shooting Starr's Top Gun MH, VC Shooting Starr's
Son of a Gun MH, VC Shooting Starr's Sadiemae MH, VC Hawkeyes Oo Buck MH,
Hawkeyes Buck Sargent MH, Hawkeyes Brown Sugar MH. Rudy comes from a long
line of proven AKC and NAVHDA hunt tested bloodlines. These dog's have
completed testing as far as they can possibly go through both the AKC and
NAVHDA systems. Both Rudy and Indy have been hunted exclusively on wild
birds, they are also "OFA" hip Certified "Good". Pups
were whelped Nov 13th.
2006

We have been working with
a couple of pups from Indy's last litter and have seen alot of natural
ability,and hunting instincts. These pups also possess good looks and
trainability. Due to the potential we have seen we thought we would breed her
one last time, We have found a very nice Stud dog that has a great disposition,
good conformation, and bird sense. He has a NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize 1 110,
he has been Penn-Hip Certified. Indy is a Great mother, good looking, calm dog
that has alot of desire to find game, land or water. She is OFA Hip
Certified "Good." Pups were whelped July 23, and will be ready
to go Sept 16

TRACE X LUCKY
This decision on a stud
dog was a tough one, we considered alot of very nice very Titled stud dog's. We
did not put this breeding together for titles or convenience but for other
reasons. We decided on this mating for several other more significant reasons;
like genetics, motherline principle's, choosing a stud dog with complimentary
motherlines betters the chance of consistent classy breeding stock. This mating
will be based on Pure Old German Shorthair bloodlines. Heavy influence from
Wendy Vom Enzstrand, DC Stradivarius Baroque, DC Hillhaven's Hustler, KS Zobel
Vom Hege Haus, CH Torannie's Flo of Hustleberg, DC Timberdoodle's Lancer Answer,
DC Shillrest's Impressive, among many other great wild Bird dog's. Lucky and
Trace are OFA Hip Certified "Good". Whelp date will be June 25-27

CHESTER
We are very excited about
this breeding. Chester is a full litter mate brother to Trace, he has
a very nice head and great conformation. Chester is a wild bird dog
and a very good house dog as well. Chester's Sire is Jaegerhof's Sir Henry
Higgin's MH and his Dam is Dakota Horizon Express JH. Higgins is the AKC Hunt
Test Sire of the Year '08. Vanna is the product of 30 years of selective German
breeding, we purchased her a little over two years ago and have shot alot of
wild birds over her. She has a very good nose, a ton of point and great
conformation. Vanna and Chester are OFA Hip certified "Good". We are anticipating
this litter to be as equal or better than Lucky X Trace, which we have had so
much success with in the NAVHDA Testing system and wild bird fields. These pups
should be able and ready for this fall '09. Anticipated Whelp date is
April 25.

This will
be a repeat breeding from our '07 breeding. Trace is out of Jaegerhof's
Sir Henry Higgins MH X Dakota Horizon Express JH. Higgins is the AKC Hunt Test
Sire of the Year 08' This was a very good breeding all the way across the
board. Beautiful, natural wild bird dog's that can turn it on in the field and
tone it down in the house. Every thing we could have hoped for in this
breeding. This breeding is linebred on DC Hillhaven Hustler X Wendy Vom Enzstrand.
Hustler was Sire of the year for Dual-type dog's and Wendy was 1991 Dual
producing Dam of the year.
2010 Planned Breeding
Ranger X Flirt
This breeding is one we are very excited for. Ranger is a hard running bird dog with biddability, and he has a great personality. He is out of a breeding we did in '06 "Red X Indy". Ranger is a NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize 1 112, he has also proven himself in the wild bird fields and at home with his owner. Flirt is a Predator first and foremost, she lives and breathes to hunt. Flirt is also a hard running bird dog, she is a NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize 1 110 and a member of a NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeder's Award Litter,she also has an AKC Junior Hunter Title. Flirt is Certified OFA "Excellant". Ranger is Certified OFA "Good". This is the first breeding that we have put together that matches two powerhouse type personalities in the field, these pups should be bigger running, very competitive bird dogs, full of natural bird sense and great dispositions. Anticipated whelp date is June 16, 2010; we are now accepting deposits. Please call or email if you are interested.
2011 Planned Breeding
Herb X Bailey
This breeding is the same breeding as Ranger X Flirt, but inverted. Herb is a full littermate to Flirt. Bailey is a full littermate to Ranger. We are staying close to these lines, do to the positive results out of the first cross that we did with Ranger to Flirt. Herb is out of a breeding we did in 2007 "Hustleberg's Lucky U" X "Horizon's Trace of Dakota", both of these dog's are very well bred animal's that are true examples of the breed, with the ability to reproduce themselves. Lucky X Trace produced six NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize 1's. We aim to use the dog's from this breeding as our foundation. They are all very nice natural gundog's and great family companions. Lucky is the product of 30 years of breeding from Hustleberg Kennels.Trace is the product of 15 years of breeding here at Horizon Kennels. The breeding Bailey and Ranger came out of, produced 3 NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize 1's,they were the only three pups Tested. They are out of Red X Indy a breeding we did in 2006, This was a very solid litter of gundog's as well as family companions. This breeding "Herb X Bailey" is the result of selective breeding of the best offspring that we have produced in the last 15 years. We expect Early developement in these pups, natural point,back and retrieve, with a very high level of desire balanced with cooperation. Not to mention good conformation.
