Our breeding goals of the German Shorthaired Pointer at Horizon Kennels are the way it was originally bred to be: versatile, medium range, biddable, with good conformation in mind.  Calm in the house, but fire in the field.  A great nose and point with natural honor and retrieve.  All of the owner's from previous litters are thrilled with their pup's demeanor in the house, as well as their cooperation and natural ability in the field.  Horizon Kennels brood matron's are full of natural instincts: point, back and retrieve, with a love of water.  They are also OFA  hip certified "Good" or better, and most will be NAVHDA and AKC Hunt Tested at least to the Natural Ability or Junior Hunter levels.  The Stud dog's that we choose to use in maintaining and improving our line will also possess these superior qualities with the ability to pass these great traits on to their get and the pedigree's to back it up.  Pups will be AKC and NAVHDA registered by the breeder.  Companion puppies will be sold with limited registration, ie: may not be used for breeding, to ensure to us that our line will be maintained and/or moved ahead. Breeding-quality puppies are sold on a co-ownership basis. However, this doesn't mean we will not sell a puppy outright under the right circumstances;  NOT every dog is breeding quality. Select puppies out of each litter maybe the specimen that we, at Horizon Kennels, are looking for in natural ability and conformation. The identification [of select puppies] would be considered between the age of 12 to 24 months. We intend to always breed the best to the best, those who display raw natural talent in the wild, bird fields, and marsh.  Each dog brings differant qualities - tools - to the table, and we intend to continue using these dogs in the program where they will be used most efficiently.

Pups sold with Limited Registration are $600. Pups sold with Full registration are $1000. A $200 non-refundable deposit reserves your pick pup in the order deposits are received. All pups will be sold with the Horizon Kennel prefix. We will only refund your deposit if there is not enough of the desired gender you originally chose to purchase. Thank You.
